Code B: Junior Translator in Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
Code C: Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ).
Code D: Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in Subordinate Offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT / JHT.
Education Qualification for above mentioned 4 posts: Post Graduates in Hindi of any recognized University / Institute are eligible for the post provided they should have passed Degree Course of any recognized University / Institute with English as compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination. Post Graduates in English of any recognized University / Institute are also eligible provided they should have passed Degree Course with Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination. Post Graduates in any subject other than Hindi / English of any recognized University / Institute may also apply provided they should have passed Degree Course with Hindi as Compulsory / Elective Subject with English as the medium of examination. Post Graduates in any discipline of any recognized University / Institute after passing Degree Course in Hindi with English as one of the main/optional subjects are eligible for the post. Post Graduates in Hindi with English as one of the main/optional subjects of any recognized University / Institute after passing Degree Course in any discipline of any recognized University / Institute may also apply. In addition to this qualification, 2-years’ experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary Level under Central / State Govt. or recognized Educational Institution is desirable. Scale of Pay is Rs.47,600/- – 1,51,100/-.
For all posts: Age should be within 30 years as on 01.01.2020. Candidates belonging to OBC (Code No. 02) & SC / ST (Code No. 01) will get relaxation in age by 3 years & 5 years respectively. Ex-Servicemen (Code No. 06 / 07 / 08) and Physically Challenged candidates (Code No. 03 / 04 / 05) will get relaxation in age as per the Govt. rules.

Process of Selection :

Selection will be made through ‘Combined Recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator & Hindi Pradhyapak Examination, 2019’, to be conducted by Staff Selection Commission. The examination will be held on 26th November at the following Centres in Eastern India (Centre Code is mentioned within the bracket) : Kolkata (Centre Code 4410), Gangtok (4001), Bhubaneshwar (4604), Ranchi (4205), Guwahati-Dispur (5105), Bhagalpur (3201) & Patna (3206). The Computer Based Examination of 400 marks will comprise 2 papers. Paper-I will consist of multiple choice objective type questions based on the following 2 subjects : (i) General Hindi — 100 marks & (ii) General English — 100 marks. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Paper-II of 200 marks will consist of conventional type questions on Translation & Essay. Each paper will be of 2 hours duration. Answer sheet of ‘paper-II’ will be evaluated only of those candidates who qualify in ‘paper-I’ at the standard as fixed by Staff Selection Commission. The process to Apply: Candidates will have to apply on-line through this website: http://ssc.nic.in on 26.09.2019. Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID, which should be kept active during this recruitment process. Before applying online, the candidate will have to register his / her name by providing basic details. Afterward, candidates will receive a unique password & log-in ID through their registered e-mail IDs & mobile numbers. Thereafter, the candidate will have to open the appropriate online application form by entering that password & log-in ID. Afterward, the candidate will have to fill in all the required fields and upload his / her passport size recent colored photograph & signature in a specific digital format. After that, the candidate will have to verify the data, what he/she put in the on-line application form. After verification, the application should be submitted by clicking the ‘Submit’ button. Thereafter, candidates will have to choose the mode of payment either online or through offline mode.
In the case of online payment mode, candidates will have to pay Rs.100/- as application fee by using online payment gateway through the Debit / Credit Card / SBI Net Banking Facility within 28.09.2019. In the case of off-line payment mode, candidates will have to take a print-out of the ‘SBI Challan’ within 28.09.2019. Thereafter, candidates will have to submit that ‘SBI Challan’ along with Rs.100/- as application fee in any branch of the State Bank of India within 30.09.2019. No application fee is required for Female / SC /ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWD candidates.
After payment of the application fee, candidates will have to re-visit the website & check the payment status. Afterward, candidates are required to obtain the print-out of the computerized system generated application form, which must be retained for future purposes. The last date for the submission of the on-line application is 26th September 2019.
